Palanpur, a fascinating story of income growth, social change

Palanpur is a relatively unknown small village in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. However, it has a special place in development economics because of a research project that has stretched over seven decades. Economists have conducted seven detailed surveys of Palanpur since the 1950s, a rare longitudinal database that shows how the village has changed over three generations.

Exim Bank Announces the Winner of IERA Award

Dr Amrita Saha, LSE India Observatory Visiting Fellow, has received the International Economic Research Award (IERA) from the Export-Import Bank of India in recognition of her PhD research. The award was first instituted in 1989 with the objective to promote research in international economics, trade, development and finance by Indian nationals at universities and academic institutions in India and abroad.
