Dr Amrita Saha, LSE India Observatory Visiting Fellow, has received the International Economic Research Award (IERA) from the Export-Import Bank of India in recognition of her PhD research. The award was first instituted in 1989 with the objective to promote research in international economics, trade, development and finance by Indian nationals at universities and academic institutions in India and abroad. Nicholas Stern, with his co-authors Himanshu and Peter Lanjouw, sought to answer key questions about development economics in a 70 year study of Indian village Palanpur.
